I have been building technology for more than 25 years and I am still passionate about it.  Starting as a programmer and leading to senior leadership positions, I have always prided myself on great collaboration with clients and peers to deliver products that exceed expectations.

I have always been hands on and remain so today, getting my hands dirty when necessary.  I’ve also had an ongoing fascination for emerging technology and processes which led to my PhD and research.

At Starpoint I had my first opportunity for management and found that I enjoyed leading teams and projects.  Management opportunities at Albridge and Compliance Science then followed but I always remained connected to the technology.

• Compliance Science, New York, NY 

Chief Technology Officer, 2014–Present

I manage the product team, software development, QA, infrastructure, information security, and technical operations. I introduced the Agile development methodology to deliver a new product from scratch.  I drive processes for enterprise readiness including due diligence, business continuity and information security to meet needs of large enterprise customers and a growing customer base that has more than doubled since I joined.  I manage a $4M+ annual budget in partnership with CFO. The company was a member of the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 in 2015 for fast growth.

Chief Information Officer 2011–2013

VP of Software Engineering, Architecture and Support 2006–2011

I started as a development manager with a team of 10.  The company was just over 50 employees. I quickly became the VP of Software Engineering with a larger team.  Eventually the team grew to 100 developers, QA, architects and support associates.  Then in 2011, the CEO promoted me to Chief Information Officer.  As the CIO I led the merger with another company, iNautix, making my team 275 associates in five locations, both onshore and offshore.

During this journey, I led software development and architecture, QA, IT strategy, technology operations and information security in support of 13 SaaS based products and 180 financial services clients. I managed an annual budget of ~$50M was a member of the Executive, Risk, and Prioritization Committees.  Collaborated with Product Management to define products and product roadmaps.  Managed vendors, interfaced with clients and partners on engagements and worked with the sales organization when meeting with prospects.  Overall defined the service model, policies, KPIs and governance standards.


• Teradata Dayton, OH

Enterprise Architect & National Consultant 2004-2006

Worked with clients nationally to define enterprise and data architectures.  The specific use cases were the management of extremely large data sets or integration of companies or divisions.  Most engagements were based on implementing the Teradata platform.

Working with senior client leadership, I created the overall strategy and design to building the high performance, high volume, highly available data warehouses and integration frameworks.  Secondly, I then directed the development utilizing Teradata products, ETL, data modeling and related technology.


• Eagle Rock Capital, West Orange, NJ

VP Technical Acquisitions 2003-2004

For the private equity partners, identified, evaluated, and made recommendations on potential acquisition targets.  Performed due diligence of the target company’s technology, markets, and IT capabilities.  Analyzed the effectiveness of the technology to support the business and drive profitability and recommend changes or identify problems.


• Unicorn, Inc. New York, NY

Enterprise Architect & Project Manager 2002 - 2003

Consolidated and reconciled client databases and data architectures, normalizing and integrating disparate data sets utilizing the company’s product, Unicorn.  Created nominal data models for clients then created data transformations from multiple source databases to that nominal model, creating a single view of company data.  Most often done for large global companies including Avis and Fiat.  This optimized business operations, reporting, and data integration across the enterprise using Unicorn, SQL and Java.


• Starpoint Solutions, Inc. New York, NY

VP of Software Engineering & Enterprise Architecture 1998 - 2002

Responsible for client solution delivery managing a team of 48 associates.  The team included product engineering, architecture and quality assurance.  Developed service offerings, proposals, and SOWs for clients.  Collaborated with clients on defining product requirements then managed the development team through design and delivery.  Introduced UML and data modeling, iterative development cycles and application architecture.  One of the first 10 Sun Certified Java Development Centers.  Managed P&L of the solutions team.  Managed vendors, budgets, facilities, recruitment, and performance management. 


• GBM Software Westfield NJ

Software Developer, Architect and DBA 1990 - 1998

Analyzed, designed and developed client software projects utilizing Java, C++, SQL, data modeling and application architecture methodology.  Engagements were both onsite as well as contracted products on specification.  Delivered five commercial products, three trading systems and more than 20 internal systems for clients.
